Invisible Cast-On
This technique gives a more rounded edge. It is strong and has great elasticity. You will need two pairs of needles – one pair in the size required for the pattern and another pair that are two sizes larger.
- with the larger needles and contrast colour yarn, cast on half of the required number of stitches. Work three rows of knit one, purl one rib then cut the yarn. Using the smaller needles and the yarn needed for the project, knit one and purl one into each stitch to double the number of stitches on the needle.
- for the next four rows, knit the knit stitches and slip the purl stitches with the yarn at the front of the work. Then continue in single rib.
